The lead up to the Oulton Park round 3.
With a few issues with the bike at Thruxton we are hoping for better results at Oulton, a circuit that will suit the Suzuki well and with more development done on the bike we should be closer to the front.
The new WK 125 scooters have been excellent and are nimble enough to get through the paddock as well as being powerfull to drag 2 people and a trolley up and down the hills of Brands.
Looking forward to the next round and getting the WK Bikes Hampshire Motorcycles and Quads Suzuki on the front row.

Thruxton - Round 2 British Super Sport

Thruxton is the fastest circuit on the calender and was going to be a real test for the Suzuki as the factory bike last year lacked the top speed needed for this 160mph circuit.
Free practise was used for setting the bike up and getting a feel for the bike on the fast flowing circuit.

Saturdays qualifying went well for the team we got the bike all set up and happy with the progress and was able to put the bike 5th on the grid and we were only pipped to the front row by Glen Richards in the last few minutes.
Race 1 - Dan got a really good start and was in 4th position in to the first corner as the laps went on the bike started to overheat and lacked power unfortunately he pulled in and had to score no points.

Race 2 - due to the issues we had on the Saturday race we were further down the field than we would have wanted and started race 2 in 20th position. Dan got away well and started to get through the field and as he did the engine had a problem which caused him to retire again.
Not the way we wanted Dans local race to go with so much promise with the Qualifying we were hoping to come away from Thruxton further up the championship then we started unfortunately we have dropped to 15th in the championship with 3 weeks to get the bike ready for Oulton Park.

I would like to thank our sponsors WK bikes, HEL performance Bike it and Putoline Oils for their continued support in 2012.

BSB Round 1 Brands Hatch Race Report

With indifferent weather the weekend was always going to be hard work as we have not had a great deal of time collating data from the WK bikes Suzuki.
Free practise we were still trying to get the gearing sorted even though we had a base to start from after we had been at the circuit 2 weeks before at a NG Road race meeting. with free practise complete and the Saturday after noon qualifying session about to start the weather was dry but pretty cold.
Through the first 15 mins of the session the WK bikes Suzuki was in and around 7th or 8th in qualifying, we put in the qualifier tyre which we knew would only last a few laps with about 8 minutes of the session left dan went out and started to get some good lap times a red flag came out after a crash, we had lost our best tyre as well so unfortunate timing. We ended up 16th on the grid which was down on where we had hoped but we still knew that we would be able to get some championship points in on our first outing.

Race 1 - Damp track but drying in places, we opted for the wet tyres for the race as did a lot of the field, had a steady start and as the race developed we were able to close people down and got up to 10th so some good solid points from the teams first outing on the bike.

Race 2 bank holiday Monday - raining all day and we were out towards the end of the day. with a fair few crashes in superbike and in superstock 1000 it looked as though the circuit was going to be hard work getting a setup.
started 14th on the grid and as Dan is good int he wet had high hopes of getting some more good points in race 2. 7 laps in we were in 12th behind the pack and the run away leader Ben Wilson had an off at surtees and the race was red flagged.
With the restart to be from current positions we were starting on 12th on the grid and in a great position for the 9 lap dash race.
On the first lap the leading pack going in to graham hill bend Wilson lost the front and within a split second on the same piece of tarmac Dan lost the front of the bike and both bikes along with James Easts took down a handful of riders, Red Flag again.
They decided to call a result from the first part of the race and we were awarded half points for 11th.
leaving Brands with a damaged bike but in 11th in the championship only 4 points from 5th we have had a good start to the season with more to come from the bike and the rider in the next few rounds.
